Baris Özcan is a Senior SAP Consultant and Project Manager with over fifteen years of experience specializing in SAP BI and BW/4HANA development, data modeling, and extraction processes. Throughout his career, he has led enterprise data warehousing projects, supported system migrations, and managed technical support operations for global organizations across the telecommunications, banking, automotive, and energy sectors, completing 28 major enterprise projects.

Currently, he holds two concurrent roles. Since August 2025, he has served as a Senior SAP Consultant and Project Manager at Wieland Electric GmbH, where he led the preparation and validation of SAP BW extractors for a major S/4HANA migration. In this capacity, he evaluated data models to ensure migration readiness across three enterprise resource planning conversion waves and optimized logistics queries for improved performance. Simultaneously, from July 2024 to the present, he operates as an SAP BW Level 3 Support specialist at HAYS AG. Here, he maintains the system landscape across SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP BW, analyzes interfaces between customer relationship management systems and the integration layer, and resolves complex technical incidents to ensure continuous reporting reliability.
Prior to his current engagements, Baris Özcan worked as a Senior SAP Consultant at BIOTRONIK SE and Co. KG from January 2025 to August 2025, configuring data frameworks to load SAP BW data into Snowflake databases. Between March 2024 and October 2024, he acted as an SAP BW Developer for Accenture Banking Solutions, designing master data objects and enhancing a seven year funding data model using HANA Studio. From November 2022 to January 2024, he was an SAP BI Application Developer and Deputy Team Lead at Roedl and Partner, delivering human resources reporting enhancements and onboarding new data flows via core data services views. Additionally, between July 2023 and December 2023, he led SAP BI reporting for an energy utility company, architecting an application programming interface integration to ingest electric vehicle registration data and producing corporate sustainability reporting.

From January 2022 to November 2022, he served as an SAP BI Application Support Team Lead at Volkswagen Financial Services AG, coordinating offshore teams and managing support for risk management and credit scoring applications. He then provided SAP BI basic support and security updates for the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment from April 2020 to January 2022, managing process chain monitoring and system migrations. As an SAP BI Architect and Team Lead Developer at a major trade fair organization from March 2020 to December 2021, he executed a greenfield migration to SAP BW on HANA and implemented data anonymization to comply with privacy regulations. Earlier, he supported SAP BI operations at Deutsche Bahn Netz AG from April 2018 to March 2020, and guided an SAP BW/4HANA migration at Innogy between October 2017 and April 2018 by developing native HANA views and migrating utility applications.
Between October 2017 and December 2017, Baris Özcan acted as the SAP BI Lead Architect and Project Manager for ARAMCO and Gulf Oil Company, delivering a proof of concept for BusinessObjects dashboards and integrating supply chain management modules. He completed consulting assignments at Freudenberg IT and Jungheinrich AG in 2017, developing extractors and delivering business intelligence enhancements. During his first tenure at Volkswagen Financial Services AG from May 2014 to March 2017, he monitored 2,000 process chains and 300 daily loads while providing critical application support. At TRUMPF GmbH and Co. KG from October 2013 to April 2014, he captured contribution margins within the SAP Profitability Analysis data model. From February 2011 to September 2013, he operated as a Solution Architect at Mercedes Benz Global Logistics Center, coordinating offshore development and implementing custom key performance indicator calculations for a service parts management program involving 300 consultants.

Earlier in his career, he completed extensive SAP development and architecture roles. He consolidated business intelligence systems for BASF AG in 2009 and 2010, designed integrated planning prototypes for Deutsche Telekom AG, and evaluated BusinessObjects tools for Daimler AG. Between 2006 and 2008, he delivered reporting solutions, system upgrades, and customer training for organizations including a public broadcasting institution, BTC Business Technology Consulting AG, Eon IS GmbH, T Systems Enterprise Services GmbH, and RWTUV GmbH. He began his technical career building a web portal as an Information Technology Junior Consultant for SELCO Holding AG from 2002 to 2005 and launched an SAP BW pilot project for a university from 1999 to 2002.

Throughout his professional journey, Baris Özcan has earned numerous formal certifications, including credentials in Enterprise Data Warehousing, Financials, External Procurement Processes, and ABAP Workbench fundamentals. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Science from a University of Applied Sciences, completed further training in Information Technology Cyber Security at the University of Rauf Denktas, and graduated as a Computer Scientist from a technical high school. His technical expertise includes SAP BW, HANA Design Studio, SAP Business Objects, ABAP, HTML, C, Pascal, Assembler, SQL, Oracle, and Linux operating systems.
