Ivan Basiuk is a Staff DevOps Engineer with over 15 years of comprehensive IT experience, specializing in DevOps engineering, build automation, and configuration management across media and scientific sectors. Based in San Ramon, California, he has spent the last decade focused exclusively on DevOps practices after beginning his career as a System Administrator.
Currently serving as Staff DevOps Engineer at Grid Dynamics since June 2022, Basiuk has automated application deployments across multi-cloud environments using various CI/CD systems and successfully implemented GitOps deployment strategies for Kubernetes environments. He developed a sophisticated distributed tracing monitoring system utilizing Jaeger and Sentry for troubleshooting complex distributed systems, while also deploying and optimizing Trino and Superset for enhanced interaction with Hadoop and HDFS in Big Data analytics. At Softserve from December 2019 to November 2020, Basiuk developed a custom Golang OpenShift operator to automate the creation, configuration, and management of instances in Kubernetes environments. He maintained Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using Terraform and Google Cloud SDK while creating custom Grafana dashboards for comprehensive application monitoring and alerting. His role as Systems Engineer at Epam Systems from May 2018 to December 2019 involved creating Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for JavaScript, Python, and Java applications across multicloud environments and implementing Istio Service Mesh in distributed Kubernetes clusters.
Beginning his DevOps journey at Teamdev from December 2016 to May 2018, Basiuk developed cloud utilities using AWS SDK and Boto3 for custom EC2 instance tagging and database backup operations, while creating various Bash scripts to support CI/CD pipeline deployments.
