Council Member
Nir Alon is a Service Manager and Field Service professional based in Phoenix, Arizona, with nearly two decades of experience in semiconductor equipment operations, new product integration, and global production ramp management. His career spans complex multi-site deployments across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Israel, with deep expertise in mask inspection systems, chemical vapor deposition platforms, and rapid thermal processing technologies.
Since April 2023, Nir Alon has been with Lasertec Corporation, a leader in the development, manufacture, and service of semiconductor and flat panel display inspection systems. He joined as a Senior Field Service Engineer, supporting installation, warranty activities, and application troubleshooting for the Matrics mask inspection system. In November 2024, he was promoted to Service Manager, taking on broader operational responsibility for field service delivery across the Arizona region. In this role, he oversees service contract execution, manages hardware support operations, and coordinates customer-facing technical activities on-site in Phoenix.

Prior to joining Lasertec, Nir Alon spent eighteen years at Applied Materials, the global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. From 2016 to 2024, he served as Program Lead, managing the transfer and integration of a multidisciplinary semiconductor annealing product from Intel's Portland headquarters to Israel. This New Product Introduction program required coordinating activities across Portland, Santa Clara, Singapore, and Israel simultaneously. He installed the first production machine in a virtual fab environment, led process qualification to Intel's exacting 0.5 Sigma standard, and managed correlation testing, mean and standard deviation performance benchmarking, and tool parameter matching to virtual factory specifications. During this period, he directly recruited, trained, and mentored a team of fifteen customer engineers, building the technical capability needed to sustain the product at volume.
From 2014 to 2015, Nir Alon relocated to Ireland as a Project Manager supporting the ramp of a new fabrication facility. He worked alongside local management to establish and implement a comprehensive KPI framework covering spare parts, quality metrics, fab safety, and weekly operations performance—training the local team to own and report against these measures on an ongoing basis. Earlier, from 2011 to 2014, he served as Engineer in Charge at an Intel site in Israel, leading the HDP-CVD and rapid thermal annealing areas, managing field service engineers, controlling process and hardware escalations, overseeing spare parts planning and budget, and coordinating ramp and sustaining activities for the site. He joined Applied Materials in 2006 as a Field Service Engineer, completing a one-year relocation to Dresden, Germany, where he worked at a Global Foundries facility, and a separate one-year relocation to New Mexico. By 2010, he had been appointed team lead for eight customer engineers. Throughout this period he developed and executed resolution plans for complex system issues, prepared hardware and process acceptance criteria in collaboration with sales, R&D, and customer teams, and delivered Tier II and III training and certification to engineers across the organization. His performance during ramp activities earned him an Employee of the Quarter recognition.

Before his semiconductor career, Nir Alon spent two years at MDG Medical from 2004 to 2006, embedding automation and medical systems across hospitals throughout Israel, providing technical support across hardware, software, and electronics, and serving as quality manager over vendor manufacturing operations—conducting quality reviews at production plants nationwide and developing comprehensive test documentation to improve production standards.
