Salavat Karimov is a Principal Systems Architect and Business Analyst with over 12 years of experience designing, automating, and scaling mission-critical financial systems and payment infrastructure across enterprise banking and fintech environments. His work spans core banking modernization, enterprise payment architecture, card processing integration, and digital banking delivery, with particular depth in high-load transaction systems and regulatory compliance automation.

Salavat Karimov currently serves as Principal Systems Architect and Head of Core Banking R&D at O!Bank, delivered through its specialized technology subsidiary Devcast, where he has been based since March 2025. In this role, he leads end-to-end technical architecture and systems analysis for the bank's core banking platform, overseeing the transformation of legacy workflows into high-performance automated solutions. He has engineered and launched online lending workflows that reduced time-to-decision significantly, and led complex technical integrations connecting retail mobile banking, corporate internet banking, and third-party card processing centers. He simultaneously continues to contribute to Colvir Software Solutions as a Senior Banking Systems Consultant, a role he has held since October 2022, where he supports enterprise architecture and solution design activities, leads presales engagements, and provides consulting to engineering teams during implementation and enhancement cycles.

Prior to his current appointment, Salavat Karimov held the role of Head of Systems Analysis and Lead Solutions Architect at Bai-Tushum Bank from August 2024 to March 2025, leading the Systems Analysis Department within the Information and Communication Technologies Division and overseeing digital transformation across retail and corporate banking sectors. Before that, from March 2021 to May 2024, he served the same institution as Principal Business and Systems Analyst for CBS Automation and Payments. Among his most consequential achievements in that tenure, he restructured internal software maintenance and support workflows, reducing annual vendor software maintenance expenses by approximately 70%, from roughly $400,000 to $120,000 per year. He also architected and delivered a Corporate Internet Banking platform that was recognized by the SME Banking Club as the best digital banking solution for legal entities for two consecutive years, in 2019 and 2020. Additionally, he designed and implemented automated workflows for consumer lending, installment financing, and BNPL services integrated directly into the bank's core accounting systems, and led implementation of AML automation mechanisms aligned with central bank regulatory requirements.
From March 2017 to March 2021, Salavat Karimov served as Card Back-Office Systems and Payments Lead Consultant at Colvir Software Solutions, acting as Subject Matter Expert for enterprise card-processing automation and back-office integration projects across multiple international banks. During a focused four-month implementation engagement with the same firm from June to September 2019, he established the full implementation framework for a bank's card back-office system, directed integration with external card processing centers and online payment gateways, and led user acceptance testing cycles through to go-live. Earlier, from October 2014 to March 2017, he served as Head of Card Payments Department at Bai-Tushum Bank, having progressed from Specialist to Department Head. In that capacity, he managed card operations and payment product portfolios across Visa, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay programs, oversaw daily clearing and settlement operations including EXD, EXFB, B-file, and PA-file processing, and directed fraud monitoring, chargeback operations, and regulatory reporting.

Salavat Karimov began his professional career with a short-term role at Optima Bank from June to September 2014 as a Card Business and Merchant Acquiring Specialist, where he supported merchant onboarding, POS-terminal deployment, and card issuance compliance operations. Prior to that, in early 2014, he completed an internship in Digital Financial Services and Mobile Payments at Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank, contributing to the launch of ELSOM, one of the first large-scale mobile wallet ecosystems in the country.

Salavat Karimov completed professional training through the Visa Business School, focusing on Fraud Prevention for Issuers and Acquirers. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Credit from the Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics.
His technical expertise spans ISO 20022, ISO 8583, SWIFT MT/MX messaging, XML OIC, Oracle Database and SQL, core banking systems (CBS/ABS), enterprise payments and payment processing platforms, Visa and card processing infrastructure, AML systems, clearing and settlement operations, enterprise integration architecture, UML, Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies, and high-load transaction processing systems.
