Talgat Akunsartov is a Senior Java Engineer based in Chicago, Illinois, with over 14 years of experience building backend systems and distributed applications. Talgat Akunsartov currently works at Ness Digital Engineering, where he transitioned to a contract Senior Java Software Engineer role in August 2025. Prior to this, he served as a full-time Senior Java Software Engineer at the same company from August 2021 to August 2025, working in Riga, Latvia. During this tenure, he contributed to projects for a New York-based finance institute, where he developed validators for trading records in a reporting system and built comprehensive tests for the existing trading records generator using Java 8 and jUnit. He also created a standalone project utilizing Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams to process Twitter messages, implementing both Kafka producers and consumers to send and receive messages to an Elastic Search cluster.

Before joining Ness Digital Engineering, Talgat Akunsartov worked as a Senior Java Software Engineer at Accenture from November 2019 to July 2021 in Riga, Latvia. He contributed to a major project for one of the largest insurance companies in the Nordic region, where he established and configured Prometheus and Grafana with alerting capabilities, creating dashboards that enabled the organization to transition to proactive monitoring. He automated a manual log cleanup process that reduced manual intervention by 80%. He designed and implemented a resilience solution incorporating circuit breaker logic and alerting for more than 30 applications. He upgraded critical core libraries including Spring, Spring Security, and Hibernate across a large project containing 80 modules. He configured the client system to utilize secure network channels using TLS 1.2 and Mutual TLS with certificate-based authentication. Additionally, he developed a proof of concept to migrate Chef and Docker-based containers to Kubernetes.

Talgat Akunsartov spent over eight years at MIK Arashan in Bishkek City, Kyrgyzstan, from September 2011 to October 2019, advancing from Java Developer to Senior Java Developer and Team Lead. In his senior role from January 2014 to October 2019, he developed the backend component of an internal Management System using Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL, and Undertow. He built a web application for drawing business processes in EPC notation using the JointJS Framework and created code generation capabilities from business processes. He developed an authentication service implementing JWT tokens for the internal Web Process Designer. He led a team of 10 developers while participating in the development of a government information system. He designed and developed APIs for this government information system using Spring Framework, creating infrastructure that serves over 1,000 users. In his earlier Java Developer role from September 2011 to December 2013, he developed a diary system for internal staff that serves 150 users per day, integrating Microsoft Project for task imports using Java EE, JSP, JDBC, and jQuery. He built a Risk Management system using Java EE, JSP, JDBC, and IBM DB2, and migrated Java Servlets to Spring REST Services.
Talgat Akunsartov began his professional career as a Junior Java Developer at OSPP Ltd from February 2011 to August 2011 in Bishkek City, Kyrgyzstan. He participated in the development and release of a Billing System, creating RESTful web services with Jersey while utilizing Spring Framework, Hibernate ORM, and Ext JS JavaScript Framework for the frontend. He developed a Report System that parses and compares billing information between servers to identify discrepancies, fully automating manual tasks that previously required two operators working eight hours daily. He used Java EE, JSP, JavaScript, and JDBC to connect to Oracle DB throughout this development work. He also deployed and monitored Java applications on Linux servers running CentOS and maintained Java applications in production environments.

Talgat Akunsartov holds professional certifications including the AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate and the Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka, which he most recently renewed in December 2025 with expiration in December 2027. He previously held the same Confluent certification from September 2021 to September 2023. He completed the Principal Developer masterclass, which was delivered by Eduards Sizovs.
