He led operational excellence across the director level spanning 9 engineering managers and adopted Amazon-wide OE KPIs within 6 months. He centralized the student verification process among multiple Amazon businesses including Music, Podcast, and Prime, saving 70% cost per request. He optimized customer service agent data requests and created tooling that saved 1,200 engineering hours per year while cutting customer turnaround time by 80%.
At Wish (April 2016 - October 2022), progressing from Software Engineer to Software Engineering Manager through the company's December 2020 IPO, he managed 3 engineering teams focused on WishLocal totaling 3 tech leads plus 12 engineers. WishLocal allows customers to pick up orders from local physical stores for cheaper shipping, accounting for 12% of all Wish orders and 50% of all orders in select countries. He created the WishLocal store acquisition team, scaling the local store network from 0 to 70,000 stores in more than 20 countries. He created the WishLocal Sell-on-Wish team, building the overall system for physical stores to list their own items for immediate pickup, zeroing out shipping times. He led multiple store network B2B partnerships in EU and APAC regions. As Lead Engineer, he owned the revenue logic of Wish's advertising platform generating $200 million per year and designed and implemented multi-million-dollar core features including ProductBoost credit at $8 million per year and ProductBoost balance at $12 million per year.

At Meta (January 2015 - April 2015), as Software Engineering Intern in Search Ranking, he implemented related noun phrases of comments in the search ranking stack and increased the recall of the eyewitness module in Trending News by 3x, modifying the Facebook News Event pipeline to handle multiple locations and time.
Vim holds a B.Sc. (Eng.) in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, where he represented the University Rugby team and Weightlifting team. He achieved top 0.1% in the country at G.C.E. Advanced Level University entrance exam with 4 A's. His honors include Global 1st place among 1,000+ competitors on 6 continents at Meteor Distributed Hackathon 2015, 1st in Sri Lanka and 30th in the world among 1,900+ teams at IEEEXtreme 9.0 2015, and Top 2 among 100+ competitors with the award for most user-friendly app at Google I/O Hackathon 2014. He holds a US patent for a mobile phone-based software and algorithm to increase safety and convenience of using headphones.
